January 2008
Dear Friend and Supporter,
We at FACE Africa would like to once again express our deep gratitude
for your support of our work.
We have renewed our matching fund of $1,000 for the month of
February. Please take advantage of this opportunity to make a donation
and double the impact of your gift.
Partnership with GEP
As you know, FACE Africa partners with existing educational
institutions in the countries we work in. In doing so, we gain access
to needy students from impoverished communities and link up with
experts who help in allocating funds appropriately.
We have partnered with Girl Empowerment Program (GEP), a charitable
organization that affiliates with and meets some of the dire needs of
women and children, especially orphans, street kids and teen parents
in communities around Liberia. From this partnership, we have added
five additional children to FACE Africa's growing list of children who
have no means of getting an education.
New Addition to the Team
Please join us in welcoming to our team Ms. Nkemdiri Chisa Iruka.
Nkemdiri is currently a public health analyst at the National
Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). She holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Psychology and Community Health and a Master of
Public Health degree, both from Tufts University.
Holding a firm belief in public health, education, and access to basic
needs as key necessities for developing African nations and sustaining
its beautiful people, Nkemdiri has vowed to give back as much as
possible through volunteering and supporting the work that various
organizations are doing in these areas.
Her love for her native land and passion for public health led her to
join FACE Africa, where she will assist in developing programs,
building partnerships with other organizations, and securing funds,
all for the important goal of improving livelihoods in African
communities.
Her dream is to build a free health clinic in her home village in
Nigeria, and in other African nations where they are desperately
needed to provide medical care and health education to those without
access.
Thank you again for your support.
Warm regards,
Saran Kaba Jones
