STANDING IN SOLIDARITY WITH
THE PEOPLE OF HAITI
FACE Africa Gala to benefit Partners In Health's Haiti Relief
Efforts
We at FACE Africa stand in solidarity with all the people of Haiti in
this desperately challenging time. We commend the many relief
organizations, government agencies and individuals who are working to
meet the needs of all those suffering from the devastating effects of
the January 12 earthquake.
While FACE Africa is not a
disaster response organization and we do not have programs in Haiti,
to support such work, we encourage you to give directly to such
organizations.
We are joining the rest of
the global community in taking action to help the people of Haiti in
the aftermath of last week's devastating earthquake.
A portion of the proceeds from our Annual Gala on Saturday, March 20th
at the Taj Boston will go directly to
Partners In Health, an organization that brings modern
medical care to poor communities in nine countries around the world
including Haiti, where they have been working for 20 years.
With the
destruction of so much of Haiti's already inadequate medical
infrastructure, the New York Times wrote that "Partners In Health
probably just became the largest health care provider still standing
in all Haiti."
We are honored to partner with Partners In
Health to contribute to the relief efforts in Haiti and hope that you
will lend your support.
