Selection
Each year, FACE Africa selects one successful program that our
team has identified and vets potential communities against
that program, while building partnerships with local organizations.
Partnering with local organizations and working with members of the
local community are critical for ensuring that the selected program can be
effectively adapted locally. FACE Africa considers programs based on a
set of selection criteria that gauges community need, program innovation
and results, and operational excellence.
Our due diligence on potential organizations includes research on
publicly available information; interviews with organizations’
management teams and board members; site visits; and interviews with
experts in the field.
Launch
Once a Program is selected for a specific community, FACE Africa
develops a team of local community members who can bring a variety of
skills to the planning and work that prepares a new program for a
successful launch.
Support
We provide
critical support during the first phase of a program’s life. In
addition, FACE Africa is an on-the-ground partner invested in the early
and long-term success of the Program. Beyond launch support, FACE Africa
provides:
-
Early-stage funding
through our fundraising efforts
-
Recruitment of motivated
members from the local community to lead the Program
-
Start-up planning to
ensure that the program is adapted to meet each community’s unique
circumstances
-
Community outreach to key
political, funding, and nonprofit organizations in the community
-
Early-stage operational
and management support.
