Concern WorldWide - Liberia
Since 1996 Concern has been operational in
Liberia during which time programming gradually moved
between emergency responses to development works depending
on the political and security situation.
Concern’s goal is to eradicate extreme poverty
and we always coordinated efforts with the target
beneficiaries, local authorities, UN agencies and other
international relief organizations.
Concern Liberia continues to play an active
role in humanitarian coordination both at the field and
national levels. Concern has been implementing water and
sanitation projects in Liberia since 2000, both in
emergencies and in community recovery. Currently Concern is
part of a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Consortium
comprised of 5 INGOs. The WASH Consortium works to support
the Government, in particular the Ministry of Health, the
Ministry of Public Works and the Liberian Water and Sewer
Corporation in reaching the goals set out in the Poverty
Reduction Strategy relating to water and sanitation.
Susukuu, Inc.
Susukuu,
Inc. was founded in 1971 to allow the poor of Liberia to help themselves in
their drive to lift their living condition beyond subsistence and above
poverty.
