Daboh is a graduate of the
University
of Minnesota
where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass
Communications with a minor in Business Marketing and
African-American Studies
Born in the
United States,
Wokie’s mother is from
Liberia
and her father is from
Sierra Leone.
Wokie attributes them both for instilling pride in her culture and
heritage, and a love for
Africa
at an early age.
As Media and Communications Officer, Wokie will
use her background in media and public relations to lead a media and
communication plan that successful generates and promote awareness
in FACE Africa, optimizing all media interface opportunities, and
aligning integrated marketing communications strategies that support
growth targets as well as organizational initiatives, and the
national values of Africa and the countries that FACE Africa serves.
Wokie has worked for Target
Corporate Headquarters and currently works at Kohl’s Corporate
Headquarters in University Relations. Wokie has also worked in
public affairs for the Food and Drug Administration as well as for
the co-affiliate of CBS-WCCO Channel 4 in
Minneapolis.
Wokie currently serves as a
Goodwill Ambassador to The Gambia, and holds the former title of
Miss Liberia Minnesota-2004 and Miss Black Minnesota USA-2007.
